Presentation

PSYCHOMED is an on-line scientific journal (ISSN: 1828–1516, AUTHORIZATION OF THE COURT OF ROME N.243 DATED 12.6.2008) with a cognitive-behavioral setting that stands at the interface between medicine and behavioral sciences.
It therefore collects contributions in the fields of psychosocial and behavioral medicine, psychotherapy, health promotion and psychosocial intervention.
Its main purpose is to provide an easy tool for scientific updating, a space for debate for those who study or work in the sector, and a training ground for colleagues in training, engaged in clinical and experimental research.
For a more adequate organization of the journal, an editorial committee was set up under the direction of prof. Lucio Sibilia, which also includes colleagues dr. Cristian Pagliariccio and myself.
The functions of the committee concern: receiving the proposed contributions, making a selection of the studies, whether they are original presentations of already published international studies; maintaining the character of a streamlined tool so that updating is easier and faster, as well as accepting criticisms that can help us improve the quality of the journal and get closer to the needs of our authors and readers.
To this end, it seems necessary not only to invite you members to send your work, but also to involve researchers and clinicians who intend to contribute to the development of theoretical knowledge and the progress of clinical practice in psychotherapy and related disciplines.
We will give preference to works that show greater attention to methodological rigor and clinical-preventive relevance.
We recall that the journal is supported by various bodies such as the Italian Society of Psychosocial Medicine (SIMPS), the Italian Association of Preventive Psychology (AIPRE) and the Association for Psycho-Socio-Educational Study and Teaching (ASIPSE).
It would be very important for us to be able to share with you the opportunity that PSYCHOMED provides to give space to young colleagues who want to experience themselves as reviewers, as well as to experts who want to contribute to professional updating.
Your works may include: recent results of original research in the fields already mentioned, summaries of studies as well as reviews and meta-analyses of literature published by other authors in international journals. Innovative interventions, clinical and clinical-experimental studies can therefore be presented, as well as in-depth studies on single cases or presentations of exemplary cases accompanied by the relative theoretical references, as well as quantitative or qualitative empirical studies, both idiographic and nomothetic, but also presentations of protocols of completed or not completed research projects (Authors Policy).
Furthermore, you are invited to report anything that may be of interest to your Colleagues: new books, brief communications, scientific-cultural initiatives, conferences, websites and international activities.
In order to pursue the main purpose of the journal, i.e. to be a tool for quick and easy scientific updating, we ask you to respect the rules for authors when drafting your contributions.
For those who wish to publish on PSYCHOMED, the committee invites you to send your contributions to the editorial staff. For further clarifications, we remain at your disposal at the same address.

We thank you for your attention, confident of sharing this initiative with you and with equal enthusiasm.
